5 tips for original gifts from the Pilsen Info Centre

Running out of ideas for what to put under the tree for your loved ones this year? Tired of going to shopping centres that are slowly filling with everyone else who’s given into the Christmas madness? Then stop by one of our Info Centres and buy your holiday gifts here. Our Tourist Information Centres offer more than just traditional souvenirs; you’ll have your choice of attractive Ts and sweatshirts, small backpacks, designer porcelain pieces, and great gifts for children. This year we’ve introduced the Fountains of Gold collection.

#1 Fountains of Gold

For over ten years now, the golden fountains have been both a tourist attraction and a showpiece for Pilsen locals (or an eyesore, depending on whom you ask). The fountains represent the symbols of the Pilsen coat of arms: the angel, the camel, and the greyhound.

Although the fountains on our products are yellow, they stand out wonderfully when combined with the black colour of the T-shirts, caps, and backpacks. You can choose between a number of clothing items, hide away your valuables in a fanny pack or purse, protect yourself from the rain under a fountain-themed umbrella, or drink coffee from a delightful, fountain-sporting mug. Recently, the socks have become very popular, another of the items included in our collection.

#2 With the Spirit of Pilsen Collection

There’s beauty in simplicity, and our collection of clothing and souvenirs called With the Spirit of Pilsen is both simple and beautiful. All of the items are connected by a similar spirit: the colour yellow, which symbolises Pilsen’s greatest treasure, our beer.

Choose from several motifs, such as the little Pilsen angel, the heart that burns with its love for Pilsen, or even the beer itself. You’ll find these symbols on our T-shirts, caps, cloth bags, tin mugs, coasters for your Pilsner beer, and even items for the youngest Pilsen locals and tourists alike. You can also treat your loved ones (or yourself) to trinkets like badges and refrigerator magnets.

#3 The Pilsen love brand

When someone says “Pilsen”, many imagine a freshly drawn Pilsner beer, the jubilee gate to the Pilsner Urquell Brewery, and the taste of the lager that’s taken the world by storm. And that’s why our assortment also includes gifts from the brewery collection, featuring everything from sweatshirts and T-shirts, to practical bottle openers and ceramic coasters.

#4 For lovers of design and architecture

Maybe you already know that, outside of Vienna, you can find the most apartment interiors designed by world-renowned architect Adolf Loos in Pilsen. Maybe you’ve even visited the interiors for yourself. If any of your loved ones claim to be modern architecture and design enthusiasts, then treat them to a visit to the Loos Interiors too. You can get your hands on a gift voucher for a commentated tour on the website GoOut.

And then to go with the voucher, you can add a stylish gift featuring a motif from the Loos Interiors, including a pencil case, notebook, or even a tea set and coasters made of Thun 1794 porcelain. Our largest producer of porcelain also offers a beautiful set of porcelain pieces bearing a blue print of the Pilsen monuments. The collection includes a plate, a bowl, and a cup with a coaster.

#5 Something for your little ones as well as traditional souvenirs

Pilsen is proud to declare its role in Czech puppeteering tradition, which has been recorded in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. The most popular Pilsen natives amongst children are surely the puppets Hurvínek and Spejbl. And together with Mánička, Ms. Kateřina, and Žeryk, your children can put on a lovely theatre show at home. Simply stop by the Info Centre to pick these puppets up yourself or order them online from our e-shop.

And, of course, the Info Centre also offers traditional collector’s souvenirs. If you know someone who’s an avid collector of postcards, tourist stamps, or magnets, then gift them a few items to add to their collection this holiday season.
