Banishing winter

It’s become a tradition for Pilsen locals to consider winter over by the arrival of the last Sunday of the shortest month in the year, meaning February. Here, the end of winter is celebrated with a costumed parade, which leaves Pilsen’s Vinice neighbourhood, passes through the Lüftnerka Farmhouse and the Kalikov Mill, before eventually reaching the city centre. A rich accompanying programme has been prepared along the entire route, and this year will once again feature the burning of the figurine Morana as well as the Pilsen doughnut competition. Pilsen ZOO invites all visitors, masked or not, to come and enjoy the parade.
