Festival on the street
Concerts and parties full of popular Czech bands – that’s Festival on the Street, which fills the centre of Pilsen with a busy programme featuring the most diverse international genres. It's up to you which shows you choose from the festival's offer. Enjoy relaxing summer evenings full of music in Pilsen. There will be several music scenes in the city centre and they even make their way to a number of the city’s bars, like Zach’s Pub or the Anděl Music Bar. As per tradition, the main stage will be on Republic Square, others will be near U Branky and in Proluka.
What kind of music can you look forward to this year?
You’ll hear dozens of known and unknown bands at the festival. The main stars include the likes of the Děda Mládek Ilegal Band, which will get things started on Republic Square on Saturday 19, August. On Friday 25, August, you can get excited about the ELECTRIC THERAPY group, which started as a project by two guitarists from the already legendary band ALICE by Pilsen native Dan Bárta. The whole festival will then close on Saturday 26, August with a bang thanks to the band Semtex.
At 17h on Sunday 20, August, the programme on the city square will take a turn for the grandiose, as the Pilsen Philharmonic Orchestra will perform under the guidance of Chief Conductor Chuhei Iwasaki. Expect to hear the most intriguing and popular hits from various films.
Other artists to perform in the centre include the Funky Monx band, Ivan Hlas, the band COP, the nine-member musical group V3Ska, Gaia Mesiah, and many, many more.
Stages
Republic Square – Pilsen’s main city square.
U Branky – located in the city centre, the U Branky stage lies within Pilsen’s pleasant green belt of gardens.
Proluka – Proluka is part of the Křižíkovy sady park, just a few steps from Republic Square.
Zach’s Pub – the stage is located in one of Pilsen’s oldest clubs, Palackého nám. 2, Pilsen.
Anděl Music Bar – the Pilsen-style music club with a non-commercial focus, Bezručova 5, Plzeň.
